Richard Willis, BA (hons), PhD, PGCE, PGDip in Publishing

Managing Director

Originally an archaeologist, Richard moved into publishing via the Diploma in Publishing course at West Herts College, working first as Production Editor and then Commissioning Editor at University of Exeter Press from 1995 to 1998. He has established Swales & Willis with a strong client base over the past nine years, and created an imprint, Impress Books, in 2005.

Colin Morgan, BA (hons), PGCE

Senior Project Manager

Colin has worked in the book trade for 35 years. He has worked as a bookseller in London, Bath, Exeter and Oxford and was a judge for the Whitbread Book Awards in 1986. He became a freelance editor in 1992 and has worked for Swales & Willis as a project manager since 2000.

Julie Swales, BA (hons)

Director

Julie worked in journalism and PR before moving into bookselling with Blackwell's in 1995. She then worked in the marketing department of the University of Exeter Press and became a project manager with Swales & Willis in 2000. She also coordinates marketing for Impress Books and Swales & Willis.
