We can tailor these services to suit your needs, allowing you to "cherry pick" the activities you would like us to manage on your behalf. In all cases the client retains ownership and copyright of the material, while we deliver quality publications on time and within budget. Calling on an extensive bank of freelance editors, designers, typesetters and printers, we are flexible and can take on a number of projects at any one time.

Book production

We provide management of book production from receipt of manuscript to bound copy, including copy-editing, author liaison, typesetting, proofreading and printing. By maintaining close contact with publishers and authors we ensure excellent standards of production. Keeping high editorial standards is a top priority and we operate strict copy-editing, proofreading and indexing guidelines to achieve this. Our editors are specialists in their fields and have many years of editorial experience. This allows us to handle material in a wide variety of subjects.

Design, illustration and cartography

We produce high quality design and illustration for use in print and online publications. This includes jacket design and page layout of internal text and illustrations. We can originate or redraw any illustrative material including photographs, maps and line drawings in colour and black and white. Our designers work on a variety of products including: book jackets text design redrawing of illustrations sales and marketing materials Typesetting and data capture We use a variety of specialist companies, both in the UK and abroad, for data capture and typesetting services, outputting PDFs for print products and XML for e-publications. Our suppliers specialise in different areas so that we can access particular skills when necessary. In particular, we have typesetters experienced in the setting of STM subjects as well as the humanities. We are used to accepting data in a variety of forms and can handle it in virtually any electronic format. We are also experienced in processing illustrative material in a wide variety of forms. Printing We manage both colour and black and white printing. A wide range of print suppliers allows us to choose the right printer for the right job. We use both digital and offset printing according to the nature of the product and, although we use local print suppliers where we can, we are also happy to source print supplies from abroad if necessary.
